Raven's Gate
- Anthony Horowitz

Raven's gate was written by Anthony Horowitz, the author of teh Alex Rider series. Anthony Horowitz at the beginning of the books, say that he wrote the book wanting to create something like Narnia or The Lord of The Rings in the modern world. Unfortunately, it doesnt even come close to that.

Anthony Horowitz writes about Matt or Matthew, who happens to be just like Alex Rider, is a kid who is fostered by his Aunt, and ends up in a village in the care of a scary lady. he begins to experience scary things in a village and learns that he is going to be sacrificed by witches who want to unleash 'monsters' to the world througha gate called Raven's Gate. Monsters that were defeated by five children.

Matt learns that he may be a part of the group and that he has special powers. Matt, escapes somehow with the help of a reporter he befriends and learns that an organization called The Nexuz was looking after him and would ensure his safety.

This book was very very disappointing. The first half of the book is unusually gloomy and dull. Although it gets a bit interesting later, its still doesn't seem interesting at all. The black magic, Monsters and all doesn't seem to be convincing. And the climax to was very disappointing. And Matt seems to be to similar to Alex.

This book was very gloomy and dull and disappointing. Perhaps the next book after this would be better. Read this book if you want to, but I don't recommend it.
